Robyn Brookshire, PhD

Dr. Robyn Brookshire currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of early childhood education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her educational leadership background spans work in nonprofits, public schools, Head Start, higher education research, and international collaborations, all aimed at promoting child and family well-being. Robyn is dedicated to fostering innovative learning environments and communities of practice in early childhood settings, adept at building strategic systems and nurturing distributed leadership. Guided by principles of justice and liberation for all families and practitioners, she has developed impactful models for professional growth and coaching. Currently focused on teacher preparation and leadership coaching, she is committed to cultivating communities that challenge norms and create liberated learning spaces. Robyn holds a doctorate in early childhood and amily studies from the University of Tennessee, a Master’s degree in interdisciplinary early childhood special education and family studies from the University of Kentucky, and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and women’s studies from Transylvania University.
